Former Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson was booked into jail early Monday for allegedly driving while impaired.
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Former Minnesota Viking Adrian Peterson was arrested in Hennepin County for allegedly driving while impaired.

What we know:
Peterson, 40, was arrested and booked into jail for probable cause fourth-degree driving while impaired, which is a misdemeanor.
He was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol at about 3:20 a.m., the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said. He was booked into jail at 5:16 a.m. Friday, according to the jail roster.
The Minnesota State Patrol said a state trooper stopped Peterson, who was driving an Audi Q5, for going 83 mph in a 55 mph zone in the area of southbound Highway 77 near 66th Street in Richfield.
A breath test showed an alcohol concentration of .14, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
He is currently not in custody, the sheriff's office said.
Peterson was in Minneapolis on Thursday. He made an appearance at U.S. Bank Stadium for the Vikings NFL Draft party.
The Minnesota State Patrol said the case will be referred to the Richfield city attorney when the investigation is complete.

Peterson is a former Minnesota Vikings running back and an NFL MVP.
