MacDill ceremony honors long-lost African American cemetery

Tuesday morning, MacDill Air Force Base hosted a memorial service for the lost Port Tampa Cemetery, burial grounds of African American citizens that were essentially forgotten when the base was opened back in 1941.

Friday morning, MacDill Air Force Base sent a KC-135 refueling tanker into the sky to fly over area hospitals in a show of appreciation.

Combat demonstrations and military vehicle displays usually attract crowds of observers each year during the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC), but concern over large gatherings due to COVID-19 has forced the event to move online.
