Friday Fishing report: Nov. 22, 2024

Captain Dylan Hubbard says fish are moving thanks to cold fronts, meaning they’ll feed actively. That should remain the case through next week ahead of the next new moon on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Rays' new stadium deal faces new roadblocks

St. Pete Mayor Ken Welch is pushing back on the belief that the deal between the city, the county, and the Rays to build a new stadium is in trouble following Hurricane Milton.               

Friday Fishing report: Nov. 15, 2024

Captain Dylan Hubbard says there’s been a lot of snook, redfish, flounder and trout action inshore. Nearshore, the cold fronts will concentrate hogfish and make them more predictable. Offshore, lots of mangroves, yellowtails and vermillion are biting while red snapper season is opening again.

Friday Fishing report: Nov. 8, 2024

Captain Dylan Hubbard says this coming week should make for “stellar” fishing inshore, with a Full Moon on the way next Friday. Snook and redfish are active right now, according to Hubbard. Nearshore, the hogfish bite is picking up. Big mangrove snappers, blackfin tuna and kingfish are among the most active bites offshore.

National Parks are free for Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, the National Park Service is offering free entrance to all parks. Veterans, active-duty military, and Gold Star Families also receive year-round free access with the Military Pass.

Manatee Viewing Center reopens in Apollo Beach

As temperatures begin to drop by Florida standards, manatees start seeking warmer waters and those wishing to see the sea cows can once again gather in Apollo Beach.
