Saharan dust keeps tropics quiet

FOX 13 Meteorologist Valerie Mills is keeping an eye on the tropics, which are quiet at the moment. She says there is quiet a bit of Saharan dust moving off the coast of Africa and into the Atlantic and that will limit any waves that may try to develop because they would have to contend with the drier air. Mills says she does not expect anything to develop in the tropics over the next week.

Invest 93L continues to spin in Gulf

FOX 13 Meteorologist Valerie Mills says Invest 93L is currently the only system being tracked in the tropics. According to Mills, it has a 40% chance of becoming a tropical low in the next two to seven days.

System could develop in Gulf of Mexico

FOX 13 Meteorologist Valerie Mills says a system spinning off the east coast of Florida will bring some rain and tropical moisture to the state but probably will not form into anything tropical over the next week. Mills says a little system in the Gulf of Mexico has a decent chance of development.
