Rent control protest ahead of St. Pete City Council meeting

A protest over soaring rent turned into a face-off with police overnight. Officers have already cited one person. The protesters have until 7 a.m. Thursday to remove their tents from in front of City Hall. Their demonstration is meant to protest the rising rent costs ahead of a special rent control meeting later Thursday.
