Tropical waves not expected to impact Florida

FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg is keeping an eye on the tropics. He says contrary to popular belief in June, you want to keep an eye on the Gulf of Mexico and the Western Caribbean because this is where storms form very early and very late in the season and many pass over the state of Florida. He says we typically get one named storm every other June. However, things are relatively quiet right now. He notes that there are a few tropical waves on the map, but nothing is expected to develop over the next week.
