Alberto makes landfall in Mexico, NHC tracks 2 other storms
FOX 13 meteorologist Nash Rhodes takes a look at the tropics.
TAMPA, Fla. - Alberto has quickly weakened after making landfall in Mexico as a Tropical Storm this morning. The mountainous terrain of Mexico made short work of the system, and we will no longer be tracking it by tomorrow.

There are currently two disturbances we are watching in the Atlantic.

We are monitoring a new chance for development in the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico, in the same area Alberto previously formed. The National Hurricane Center has assigned a medium 50% chance of formation to the disturbance. This has a better chance of forming next week and will not bring impacts to Florida.
We are continuing to monitor Invest 92L off the east coast of Florida. This disturbance will have a small window to develop before pushing onshore the northeast Florida and Georgia coastlines on Friday.
Dry air will likely hinder the chances of development for Invest 92L, keeping it weak regardless of formation. Either way, gusty winds and heavy rainfall are anticipated impacts for affected areas along the east coast.
The NHC has assigned a medium 40% chance of formation for the system by the week's end.
