Alfred Angelo bridal chain closes doors abruptly
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Without warning, Alfred Angelo, a popular bridal dress retailer has closed its doors -- leaving thousands of brides and dresses in limbo.
Stores closed on Thursday night, including in the Tampa Bay area. There are more than 60 U.S. stores and 1,400 stores globally.
Alfred Angelo’s has filed for bankruptcy protection. The Financial Times reports a Florida-based law firm will represent them.
It’s been reported that brides-to-be who have already purchased their dresses will have them delivered. But it’s unclear the procedure for people who have already put down their deposits.
In Washington state, cops had to be called because brides were bum-rushing the stores.
