Blizzard breaks 1898 record in Montana town
HAVRE, Mont. (FOX 13) - Record high snowfall in a Montana town broke its previous record in 1898.
The National Weather Service reported a total of 13 inches of snow fell at the Havre City-County Airport between Monday and Tuesday.
This broke the previous two-day total for the month of October which was 12.6 inches. This record was set in 1898.
The record total for the month of October is 15.7 inches, which was also set in 1898. Since there are many days left in the month, the NWS said there is a good chance a new record might be set.
The blizzard also knocked out power for thousands of people.
