Burger King offering free King Jr. meals for back-to-school season

Burger King is sweetening the return to school for kids by offering a free King Jr. Meal.
The fast food chain said customers who spend at least $10 between Aug. 12 and Aug. 25 can get the free King Jr. Meal, which includes the choice of a hamburger, cheeseburger or four-piece chicken nuggets. It also includes a side and a drink, as well as a toy.
Customers must have a Royal Perks account and order through the BK mobile app or on BK.com in order to get the deal. The offer is also not available during breakfast hours, the chain said.
Meanwhile, Burger King is also offering its $5 Your Way Meal through October. The deal, which was first announced in June, includes the choice of a Whopper Jr., Bacon Cheeseburger, or Chicken Jr., plus fries, 4-piece chicken nuggets, and a drink.
"We're going to extend that $5 Your Way Meal now into October because we feel like it is working perfectly for the business, and we think customers are loving it," Restaurant Brands International’s CEO Josh Kobza during an earnings call, according to People.
Burger King is among the various food chains that has been dealing with price-conscious consumers by offering value meals and deals.
Last month, McDonald’s reported that sales had dipped for the first time since the pandemic – and in May, the burger chain launched a new $5 meal deal to help lure in customers.
Other fast-food giants have done the same, including Sonic’s $1.99 menu and even Starbucks with a lower-priced "pairings menu."
