Car Seat Recall 2015

Recaro Child Safety is announcing a recall of the ProRIDE and Performance RIDE Convertible Car Seats, manufactured between April 9th, 2010 and June 9th, 2015.

Recaro Child Safety is announcing a recall of the ProRIDE and Performance RIDE Convertible Car Seats, manufactured between April 9th, 2010 and June 9th, 2015.

In the event of a crash when used forward facing with a child over 52 pounds and the top tether attached to the vehicle, the top tether attachment area on the car seat shell could potentially crack or break loose.  If the top tether breaks or detaches from the car seat, there is an increased risk of injury to the child.

There are no reported injuries linked to the problem and the company tells parents that it is OK to continue to use the car seats until a fix kit is sent to correct the problem.

The fix kit will contain a tether load redistribution strap and instructions for how to affix the new tether load redistribution strap to the car seat.

If you have questions regarding the recall you can call 1-866-628-4750 or email recarorecall@m-s-s.com.

You can also find out immediately if your product is affected and order a fix kit directly by visiting recaropromotion.com/RIDErecallSept2015 and inputting your model number and manufacture date.

The recall does not affect any ProRIDE or Performance RIDE Convertible Car Seat manufactured after June 9th, 2015.
