Cyclists, walkers take over street for Cyclovia
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - A main road in Temple Terrace shut down Sunday exclusively for bikes and pedestrians.
The road on 56th Street was wide open to runners, walkers, and bicyclists for the annual “Cyclovia” event.
It gives pedestrians the chance to take back the street.
“It’s a great idea, it lets everyone interact,” said Brian Klett of Temple Terrace. “I’ve seen a lot of new stores I didn’t realize were here and it’s fun to see the neighbors and everyone else on a nice sunny day. I’m having a lot of fun.”
“Cyclovia” is based on the Spanish term for cycle path.
The street will reopen to vehicles Sunday night.
