Lightning blamed for small brush fire in Brooker Creek Preserve

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - Firefighters say lightning sparked a small brush fire in the Brooker Creek Preserve earlier this week, and it continues to burn.
According to the Florida Forest Service, the flames were first spotted from a Metro Traffic media helicopter Tuesday night. The flames have consumed four acres so far.
No structures are threatened, and FFS crews are on scene to contain the fire.
