Man on the run after deadly shooting in Tampa captured Tuesday night; officials say
TAMPA - A man was captured and arrested Tuesday night after allegedly killing a woman at a home on the 1700 block of W St. Joseph Street, according to the Tampa Police Department.
TPD responded to reports of shots fired on Tuesday morning where they found a woman in her mid-30's with a gunshot wound.

She was taken to a hospital where she later died.

Later in the day, the suspect, Derrick Dempsey, was arrested near the I-275 ramp at E Bearss Ave. by Hillsborough County deputies.

Investigators say that early evidence suggests that the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Dempsey has been charged with first-degree murder.
