Vacationers can escape reality at game-themed Florida mansion
CLERMONT, Fla. (FOX 13) - There is a 10-acre home in Florida where games become larger than life; and people can rent the unforgettable property for themselves.
It’s called the Great Escape Lakeside, and the mansion is tucked away in Clermont. The rental includes a life-sized Operation game, a 7-foot piano -- installed in the floor -- and the only known residential escape room game in the world, which is based off the board game, Clue. There is also an arcade, a Jumanji-themed movie theater, a casino – which is just-for-fun – and a chess board floor game.
The Western World's Largest Word Search is also in house, which has a Guinness Book of World Record award for its 62,500 letters and 7,206 words.
Outside, the pool, lazy river, hot tub combination is filled with 40,000 gallons of water, and there are also two water slides. There is also a human foosball and outdoor TV. The property sits on a lake, and there are kayaks, canoes and a pedal boat for renters to use. By the way, the rental home can fit up to 43 people with 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
Each bedroom is based off a different game, including a Monopoly-themed room where the closet looks like a jail, and even a Pac-Man bedroom, with a bed shaped like, well, Pac-Man himself. There is so much more featured in and out and of the massive lakeside property.
Most of 2018 has already been booked, but there are also dates available in 2019. For those interested in renting the extraordinary home, details can be found at Orlando Area Luxury Rentals’ website. The listings can also be found on short-term rental sites like Airbnb and Homeaway.
In case it's all booked for the next year and a half, Orlando Area Luxury Rentals say they are working on opening a second property, "Great Escape Parkside," which is a much larger version of the lakeside property. It is expected to open in 2019.
But be aware, it is already available for booking, and rooms are filling up.
