Venice man arrested after pointing gun at another driver

A Venice man was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun at another driver.

Florida Highway Patrol said they responded to the road rage incident around 3 p.m. on Thursday. Two vehicles were traveling south on Interstate 75 just north of State Road 681.

They pulled over the suspect, Christopher Banach, 26, and said he displayed his firearm at another driver on the interstate. It’s unknown the circumstances that led up to this moment.

He was booked into Sarasota County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, display of a firearm, and several drug charges.
