Woman removes plastic wrapped around St. Pete seagull's neck

A woman’s new year’s vacation briefly turned into a rescue mission on January 2 when she untangled a distressed seagull from a length of plastic that was wound around its neck.

The woman was seen climbing to the top of a column on a pier in St. Petersburg, Florida. Holding the seagull in one hand and untangling with the other, Tara Russell was able to successfully free the bird without too much fuss.

Emily Krause posted the video to Facebook of the brief mission, writing, “Tara Russell saving birds allll 2019 boys!! DON’T LITTER.”

Tara released the bird, and the rescued seagull flew away.
