Florida's alligator hunting season begins Monday – and this time, hunters can target gators around the clock.

A Florida photographer recently captured a unique moment between a manatee and an alligator as the pair peacefully swam together through the Myakka River.

A golfer jumped in to try and save a woman after seeing her fall into an alligator-infested pond in a Sarasota County neighborhood last week, but 911 audio reveals he was unable to help and had to retreat.

Police in Florida say they were forced to temporarily close a park over the weekend after an "aggressive alligator" – which was photographed with a bird in its jaws – showed up on its boardwalk. 

An alligator cautiously approached a group of golfers down in southwest Florida, maybe to just join in on all the fun they were having.

The owner had been playing fetch with his dog when an alligator suddenly grabbed the 40 lb. Lab mix by his head. "Boom, the water just sort-of exploded," he recalled. "He never barked. He never saw it... It took him down like it was nothing."

The man who was found dead in a Largo lake after likely being attacked by an alligator was missing three limbs when crews recovered his body from the water, police said.
