Publix announces store closures before Irma's landfall

Publix has announced store closures across Florida.

As the weather conditions expect to worsen as Hurricane Irma gets closer to the state, the company said they will start closing stores on Friday, September 8.

All stores in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Sarasota and Desoto counties will close Friday night at 8 p.m. and plan to reopen Monday, September 11, weather permitting.

All stores in Highlands County will close at noon on Saturday, September 9, and plan to reopen Tuesday, September 12, weather permitting.

All stores in Polk, Lake, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties will close at 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, and plan to reopen Tuesday, September 12, weather permitting.
