After Trump tests positive for coronavirus, test results roll in from White House

A slew of test results coming from the Trump administration is revealing who might have been exposed to coronavirus after President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump announced they had tested positive in the early hours of Oct. 2.

Their positive tests came just hours after news broke that Hope Hicks, one of the president’s top aides, had tested positive.

Trump family:

Melania Trump: Positive

  • The presient announced that he and the first lady tested positive for the coronavirus in the early hours of Oct. 2.

Ivanka Trump: Negative

  • President Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka Trump tested negative for coronavirus.

Barron Trump: Negative

  • Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s youngest son who lives at the White House, tested negative.

Jared Kushner: Negative

  • Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, tested negative for the virus.

Donald Trump Jr.: Negative

  • The president's eldest son tested negative for the virus.

Eric Trump: Negative

  • The president's second-oldest son tested negative.

Lara Trump: Negative

  • The wife of Eric Trump tested negative.

In the administration

President Donald Trump: Positive

  • The president announced on Twitter in the overnight hours of Oct. 2 that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Stephen Miller: Positive

  • Trump's top policy adviser and speechwriter tested positive for the coronavirus on Oct. 6.

Kayleigh McEnany: Positive

  • The White House Press Secretary revealed on Oct. 5 that she has tested positive for the virus.

Hope Hicks: Positive

  • Hicks, a top Trump aide, was the first to test positive Oct. 1.

Nick Luna: Positive

  • The president's personal assistant tested positive for the virus.

Mike Pence: Negative

  • Vice President Mike Pence and his wife Karen Pence tested negative, which is welcome news in terms of stability of the Executive Branch. Should Trump not be able to fulfil the duties of the presidency, the 25th Amendment allows the power of that office to be temporarily transferred to the vice president.

Mike Pompeo: Negative

  • Though Mike Pompeo has been traveling in recent weeks and had not cross paths with the president since Sept. 15, the secretary of state revealed Friday morning that he tested negative for the virus.

  • The White House Chief of Staff tested negative.

Steven Mnuchin: Negative

  • Steven Mnuchin, the Treasury Secretary, has tested negative for coronavirus.

  • Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has tested negative.

Larry Kudlow: Negative

  • Larry Kudlow, Director of the National Economic Council, has tested negative for COVID-19.

Dr. Ben Carson: Negative

  • The Housing and Urban Development Secretary tested negative.

  • The Director of National Intelligence tested negative.

  • It is unknown when Trump’s infection began, or if he was contagious during Tuesday night’s debate with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. As a result, the Biden campaign tested the former vice president for the virus on Friday, and has continued to test him since. His results were negative. When attendees entered the debate venue, Trump’s entourage noticeably did not have on masks.

  • Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris has tested negative for the virus.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi: Negative

  • The Democratic speaker of the House tested negative.
