The Hillsborough County Fair is underway.

Heading into its second and final weekend, organizers call it an old-fashioned fair with old-fashioned fun - and they highly recommend visiting the livestock tents.

The fair as we know it today is in its 26th year of operation after splitting from the Florida Strawberry Festival, and its 10th year of operating at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds off of Route 60 in Dover.

It’s run entirely by volunteers making it one of the more affordable fairs as well with an entrance fee of only $7.00 for adults, $5 for students and $4 for seniors, plus free parking.

Throughout the course of this year’s run, fairgoers will find rides and games at the Midway, all the fried foods they could want plus local restaurant stands, a rodeo, tractor pull, circus, demolition derby, historical village, and of course a variety of livestock competitions.

The fair runs 5 p.m. through 10 p.m. on Thursday, 5 p.m. through 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 p.m. through 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 p.m. through 8 p.m. on Sunday.
