LPD said Jonathan McPhee called police Wednesday and told dispatchers he killed his wife at the couple's home on Pine Cone Way.

When officers arrived, they found McPhee with a stab wound they say was self-inflicted, and his wife suffering from what police described as blunt force trauma.

Both were taken to the hospital and were listed in critical condition as of Thursday morning.

McPhee faces an attempted first-degree murder charge, police said.
