87-year-old man dies after car crashes, catches fire: FHP
HOMOSASSA, Fla. - An 87-year-old man died after his car crashed and caught fire in Citrus County on Sunday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to FHP, the driver suffered a medical emergency shortly after 2:30 p.m. while driving along W. Grover Cleveland Blvd. near Homosassa.
His Kia Forte left the road and crashed into a sign, FHP said, and the wheels kept spinning, which caused the grass under the car to catch fire.

The flames spread to the car, according to troopers.
Crews pulled the driver from the vehicle and rushed him to the hospital, where he died.
No one else was involved in the crash.
