Deputies: Suspects seen using cloned credit cards, driving Mercedes
LAKELAND, Fla. - Polk County Sheriff's detectives hope someone can identify two suspects seen using cloned credit cards and driving a Mercedes.
The suspects were seen in surveillance video using the stolen credit cards on May 9 between 7 and 10 p.m. in various places throughout Polk and Osceola Counties. All the victims are Mid Florida Credit Union customers. Detectives are now trying to find out how the information was stolen, but the sheriff's office said it does not believe it was from skimmers.
The images of the two suspects, a man and a woman, are very clear, and so is the image of the vehicle they were driving, a white Mercedes GLS SUV. "These are such great pics, we just know someone knows who they are!" the Polk County Sheriff's Office wrote on its Facebook page.
Anyone with information is urged to call deputies or Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477). You can remain anonymous and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
