Dozens camp out for free Chick-fil-A in Wesley Chapel
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Dozens of people were camped out Wednesday in front of the new Chick-fil-A store in Wesley Chapel hoping to get free Chick-Fil-A for a year at the store's grand opening on Thursday.
The new location is opening up on Sun Vista Drive near the Tampa Premium Outlets at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Chick-fil-A says those camped out are hoping to be the "First 100," which is a long-standing tradition celebrating the grand opening of each new store.
Those who are taking part in the "First 100" at this location began registering at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning and have brought tents to camp out. As part of the contest, they can't leave the property, go to their car or switch places with anyone else.
The event culminates at 6 a.m. Thursday where those who have registered will receive the Grand Prize of one free Chick-fil-A meal per week for a year.
