Firefighters: Child rescued after nearly drowning at Beacon Square Civic Center

HOLIDAY, Fla. - A toddler nearly drowned at the Beacon Square Civic Center in Holiday Thursday afternoon, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters said the child was pulled from the pool after being found under the water.

People nearby performed CPR before EMS arrived. The child was taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital.

Firefighters said the child is alert and breathing.
