Hooters crowns new wing-eating champ
Hooters crowned its new worldwide wing eating champion.
Matt “The Megatoad” Stonie won the title Saturday on Clearwater Beach.
Stonie ate 241 Hooters world-famous chicken wings in 10 minutes, outperforming Joey "Jaws" Chestnut's 200 wing tally to end his three-year reign as Hooters Champ.
"It feels good to be the Hooters Worldwide Wing Eating Champion. I thought this contest would be neck and neck," said Stonie. "Joey Chestnut is an amazing chicken wing eater; he's very fast with his hands. I came prepared, so I can't say it was unexpected. But, it was a nice surprise."
Stonie won bragging rights and $17,500 in cash prizes.
