Man's lost wedding ring returned by 8-year-old

Matt Dooyema lost his wedding ring while tubing in Royalton, Minnesota. “I started crying like a baby. I married my best friend. My wife is my world to me.”

The ring was thought to be lost for good, prompting the Dooyemas to get ring tattoos for their 2 year anniversary. “The joke is you can never lose that ring.”

Then Dooyema got a Facebook message two months later from a stranger. His wedding ring had been found by 8-year-old Matthew Ortloff.

Because the couple’s wedding date and initials were engraved on the inside of the ring, the Ortloffs were able to track them down on the Minnesota Official Marriage System, and then on Facebook.

“It’s good to give things back to people,” said Matthew Ortloff

It’s amazing what a few initials, a little modern technology, and a little boy’s kindness can do.
