Treasure Island home damaged in suspicious fire
TREASURE ISLAND (FOX 13) - Investigators said a home on Treasure Island was damaged in a fire Friday night.
According to the fire department, several neighbors called 911 around 10:30 p.m. to report the fire on 125th Avenue. "It's your first reaction, you just had to do something. You can't just sit and let it burn, there's no way," Bobby Roberts said. "It's what any neighbor would do. Grace is such a nice person and she would probably do the same for me."
When crews arrived at the scene, the neighbor was using a garden hose to try to extinguish the fire, which was primarily at the back of the house.
Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and later determined it was suspicious in nature. The fire remains under investigation using forensic analysis.
Officials said the homeowner was out of town at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported.
