VIDEO: Inverness gun store burglarized
INVERNESS (FOX 13) - A weapons store in Citrus County was burglarized and the store owner says his alarm company didn't notify him or the police.
The owner of Florida Gun Supply, Andrew Hallinan said the burglary happened just before 3:40 a.m. Tuesday. According to surveillance video from inside the store, the suspects were in-and-out in less than 30 seconds.
The burglars appear to have come in through a small window in the business. Video shows one, then a second, crash into the store. They begin loading items into large sacks. One goes behind a counter while the other sweeps items into his back from the front of the glass cases.
Then the two jump back through the window.
Citrus County sheriff's investigators went to the business on Pine Street after someone called 911 to report a suspicious incident. That's when they discovered the burglary.
The sheriff's office said it was not releasing information about what was stolen while the investigation is underway. Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Community Crimes Division at 352-726-1121, or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, please call Crime Stoppers of Citrus County at 1-888-ANY-TIPS.
