Devices meant to make life easier can sometimes be difficult to figure out.

Video of a grandmother who was given a Google Home device for Christmas is proof that new technology isn't for everyone.

Ben Actis posted a video of his grandmother, Maria Actis speaking to the device. But Maria speaks English with a pronounced Italian accent and Google didn't seem to understand her requests.

“Hey, Goo Goo” Maria said to the small, round device on the counter. She looked to family members for advice on how to make it work.

The Google Home managed to form a response when she asked about the weather, which startled Maria.

She jumped out of her chair and said, “I’m scared, it’s a mystery. Oh my gosh!"

Ben says his girlfriend, Becky Siegel gave his grandmother the Google Home device for Christmas.
