Multi-agency operation leads to slew of arrests, including 19-year-old felon: HCSO

A joint operation by multiple Florida law enforcement agencies resulted in 17 arrests and 146 traffic stops after an operation was conducted on Friday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

One of the notable arrests was a three-time convicted felon, 19-year-old Brandon Landaverde.

Deputies say they found him in possession of a loaded firearm during a traffic stop near North 15th St. and East Fowler Ave. in Tampa.

At the time of the arrest, Landaverde was also in violation of his probation.

• Felon in Possession of a Firearm x2
• Violation of Probation: Fraud-Credit-Card
• Violation of Probation: Unlawful Carrying Concealed Firearm
• Violation of Probation: Fraud Use of Personal ID
• Violation of Probation: Carrying Concealed Firearm
• Violation of Probation: Obstruct Crime Investigation

Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister says these joint operations are key to ensuring safety throughout our communities. 

"These results highlight the importance of proactive partnerships between agencies to keep our community safe," said Chronister. "By working together, we're making it clear that illegal activity has no place in Hillsborough County."

Two firearms and $1,400 U.S. currency were also seized during the joint operation by HCSO, the Tampa Police Department and the Florida Department of Corrections.

The investigation is ongoing and future information will be released by the Public Affairs Office.
