Weeki Wachee Mermaids surprise girl fighting brain cancer

The Mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs had a very special visitor last week - a 4-year-old named Peyton who is in the fight of her life against brain cancer.

Peyton is fighting her fifth brain tumor in the last two years, but you'd never know watching her play with the Mermaids.

Peyton, her big sister Brooklyn and their family traveled from Georgia to visit Weeki Wachee Springs on vacation. The Mermaids had some very special surprises for Peyton.

In addition to her beautiful, rainbow-colored mermaid fins, the Mermaids swam with Peyton and gave her a special Little Mermaid doll to take home.

According to Peyton's family and their fundraising page for her medical needs, Peyton's first tumor reactivated and began growing again. Peyton has been through clinical trials and radiation, but because of the size and location of her tumors, doctors must be very careful with her care.
